Attractions - fishing
Be sure to bring your fishing tackle as there are three options for fishing: one on the farm and two nearby. All the sites are ideal for adults and children. Dogs are welcome.
Option 1. Westway Mill
The River Dalch runs through the farm and is deep enough in places for trout fishing. The setting is idyllic with Westway Mill nearby. We can tell you more about it and where to go when you get here. The river is about ten minutes walk from the campsite. There is no charge.
Option2. NEW! Eastway Farm
You can now enjoy carp fishing at our neighbour's 160ft by 50ft pond at Eastway Farm. This is a tranquil spot: the pond is for the sole use of campers and caravanners, and guests of the owner.
The pond varies in depth up to 16ft. It was stocked last year with 25 11lb mirror carp, 25 11lb common carp and 10 specimen carp weighing into double figures. All fish must be returned and landing nets must be used at all times.
The pond is about 15 minutes walk across the fields from the campsite or you can drive up via Eastway Farm.
Charges
Full day £6 including 2 rods. 7am - dusk
Half day £4 including 2 rods. 2pm - dusk
Please book through Jo or John on the farm and pay in advance.
Dogs are not permitted in the water when fishermen are present and please use bins for all rubbish. Please observe the normal fishing rules and good luck!
Option3. Dart Raffe Farm
Alternatively, try the mature lake at Dart Raffe Farm, extending to one and a half acres, stocked with carp up to 10 lbs in weight.
The lake is in a beautiful, unspoilt environment, surrounded by green fields and trees and with no roads or houses within sight or sound. Families are welcome. There is a bridleway and footpaths for non-fishing family members who would just like to enjoy relaxing and walking in the countryside. You are welcome to bring a picnic.
Charges for up to 3 rods: £7 per day.
Please book through Jo or John on the farm.
