Attractions - where to eat & drink

Some of our favourite places for a tipple or a feed.

Mount Pleasant Inn

Situated on the old Witheridge to Tiverton road (B3137) about half a mile from West Middlewick Farm, and is a popular pub/restaurant where booking is always advisable. Well patronised by the locals so the bar can be crowded. A separate restaurant set in the old forge, with lots of beams and character and a small room to the rear if you want seclusion. The menu is ambitious with some unusual and interesting combinations. Highly recommended!

If you just want to enjoy a quiet drink they have some good real ales.

Thelbridge Cross Inn

On the Witheridge road to Chawleigh about 2 miles from West Middlewick Farm. Thelbridge has a church, a couple of houses and the Inn, and that's about all! An old coaching inn with separate Egon Ronay recommended restaurant. Alternatively, there is a large eating area off the bar if you prefer. A friendly atmosphere and a good varied menu, plus a changing daily blackboard menu in the bar eating area. House wines about £8 and a meal for two with wine is about £25. Booking recommended

The Mitre Inn serves food all day, eat in the restaurant or alternatively you can order it as a takeaway and bring it back to the site to enjoy.

The London Inn

Also situated on the Two Moors Way is the London Inn, 7 miles from the farm in Morchard Bishop, near Crediton. Offering delicious homemade food in a warm, friendly family run pub. The steak and ale pie is just incredible! Don't plan to walk too far after you've eaten!

Bickleigh Mill

One of the most popular attractions of Bickleigh Mill is the beautiful Dining Room, where antiques, soft lighting, exposed stone walls and a large roaring fire in the winter create a warm and comfortable atmosphere. Large windows provide glorious views over the grounds where one might catch a glimpse of the Peacocks that roam around the mill.

The Cafe Bar is the ideal place to enjoy snacks and outside we have the Waterside tea gardens which overlooks the Mill River and is cool and shady all summer and where lunch, snacks and our famous traditional English tea of scones, finger sandwiches and strawberry shortcake is enjoyed by visitors alike each afternoon.
